In 2014, Bangladesh was in worst situation ever in their cricketing history. They were defeated by almost every team in the world. They managed to play some close game but could not finish the game. Sri Lanka tour of Bangladesh, Another disappointing series for Bangladesh Cricket Team. Tigers were able to play some very close match especially in t20. Unfortunately, two close game was finished at the last ball of the game.
Bangladesh's misery continues throughout the year. It was more evident when tigers could not able to chase down over a 100 runs against India. Stuart Binny took six wickets just for four runs. That was his career best performances.
After this disappointing series, Bangladesh Cricket Board took some bold decision. Appointing of new captain was one of them. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was the senior player and he was rightly picked up by the board. But he was not just a senior player. He is an true inspirational leader. The way he backed up the youngsters are phenomenal. He transformed a team from under performing team to a very competitive team.
Tigers transformation starts from Zimbabwe tour of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Cricket team performed well in the world cup. For the first time, Bangladesh reached in the quarter-final. After world cup, Bangladesh was a different team. Their domination starts from Pakistan series. It continues to series against India Cricket team and South African Cricket Team. It was a team effort But whole team work was coordinated by Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. We are looking forward to see more magic from Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.
